EduConnect is a one-stop education platform built by Birr Tech. It brings two worlds that usually live apart — the educator teaching a live class, and the school a family is trying to find — under one roof, with one standard of quality and one connected experience.
The story
We kept meeting the same two people. One was a brilliant tutor teaching evening classes out of a notebook, juggling chat groups, cash receipts and a spreadsheet named "grades-final-FINAL". The other was a parent driving across town to ask a school, in person, whether it had space in Grade 5 — because the school's only online presence was a borrowed Facebook page.
Birr Tech builds practical software for Africa and beyond, and education kept asking for the same two things: a real classroom online, and a real place for schools to exist on the internet. Neither problem needed a hundred features. They needed to be solved properly, end to end, and priced so the tutor and the school could both say yes.
So EduConnect became home to two purpose-built platforms. BirrClass handles the teaching: live rooms, courses, gradebooks, certificates and payments. BirrSchool handles the finding: a rich directory where families compare schools honestly, and where every school gets a full website of its own. Built separately, run separately — but engineered to the same standard, so an educator today and a parent tomorrow meet the same quality either way.

What we stand for
These are not posters in a hallway. They decide what we build, what we refuse, and what we charge.
A great school website or an online course should not be a luxury. We keep entry free or nearly free, design for low-bandwidth connections and ordinary phones, and write our interfaces in plain language a first-time user can follow.
Education runs on trust. Verification badges, signed certificates, moderated reviews and public results checkers exist so families can believe what they read — and schools can prove what they claim.
No dark patterns, no pay-to-play rankings, no features shipped for demos. If a button exists, it works; if a price exists, it is published. We would rather ship less and ship it properly.
How we build
The same three rules govern every platform. You can hold us to them.
Every public page is prebuilt and served from the edge. Marketing pages, school websites and product pages ship as finished HTML — fast on any connection, nearly impossible to take down.
No serverless glue code to babysit. The static tier needs no runtime at all, and the apps talk to one hardened data plane instead of a sprawl of middlemen. Fewer moving parts, fewer failure modes.
Hashed credentials, signed session tokens, TLS everywhere and least-privilege access are defaults — not upgrades. Security review is part of shipping, not a someday task.
